Don't go over the top with your purchases. Whilst it is nice to have top of the range items in the home it is not always affordable, so be sensible with your purchases. Of course, don't opt for low quality as this can be a false economy but unless you can afford to spend the money don't assume that you need to go for the best on the market either.

Check whether you actually need any extended warranty that the retailers or manufacturers try and sell you, as often you will not need to take this out as you may already have some form over extended cover plan for all appliances or you may have protection through other means such as with the benefits that come with a packages bank account.
